Aug. 25, 1934 – June 2, 2019

Gloria Hafen Kezos, 84, returned to her Father in heaven on June 2, 2019, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Born on Aug. 25, 1934, in St. George, Utah, Gloria had a wonderful childhood in Santa Clara. She loved being from Utah’s Dixie. She had many good memories of days with her family, cousins and friends. She was the daughter of Grant and Elva Graf Hafen of Santa Clara. She was the big sis to three younger brothers. Gloria was the loving and devoted wife of Ted Kezos for 59 years. They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Feb. 21, 1960, and later sealed in the St. George Temple on Dec. 27, 1962.

Gloria attended Woodward Junior High, where she had classes from her father, and graduated from Dixie High School in 1952. She continued her education at Dixie College and received an Associate in Arts degree in 1954. Throughout those years, Gloria again made many lifelong friendships.

After working a short time at the state drivers’ license office in Salt Lake City, and always seeking a new adventure, Gloria moved to Southern California where she met the Greek love of her life and best friend. She spent the next 30-plus years of her life in California, where she raised her family and developed many cherished friends before moving back home to Santa Clara in 1988.

Gloria loved many activities including riding in the car and enjoying nature, traveling, going to movies, listening to music, cooking Sunday dinners, singing, fishing, playing card games, watching Jazz games, watching any grandchild’s activity from music recitals to sport events and listening to books. When describing the many activities that she loved to do, she once wrote that “everything I can think of is better because I’ve got my man to share these times with and enjoy life together.” She loved her Teddy.

Most important in Gloria’s life was her relationships with other people. She genuinely loved her friends, her neighbors and her family. It came easy for her and she freely expressed love, interest and concern. She had unconditional love for her family and grandchildren. She was always quick to offer a kind word and show love to those around her. Those around her could feel of her friendship, love, kindness and genuine concern. Her greatest desire was to be around her family and friends.

Gloria was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she served diligently in many capacities throughout her life from Cub Scouts to Primary Presidencies. She also volunteered in organizations like the American Cancer Society and the Huntsman World Senior Games.

Gloria is survived by her husband James (Ted) G. Kezos; brothers Darryl (Mary Jane) Hafen of Santa Clara, LeGrande (LuJuanna) Hafen of Santa Clara, and Craig (Patty) Hafen of South Jordan; children Kevin (Freedom) Kezos, Shauna (David) Polatis, and Kyle (Melanie) Kezos; grandchildren Travis Polatis, Greg (Kim) Kezos, Jordon (Mary) Polatis, Faith (Kenny) Banner, Ryan (Kaitlen) Polatis, Zachary (Emily) Polatis, Chad Kezos, Tessara Kezos, Kourtney Kezos, Ashley Kezos, Kylie Kezos; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Grant and Elva (Graf) Hafen; nephew Wade Hafen; many aunts, uncles, cousins; and countless dear friends.
