February 27, 1931 – September 18, 2015

Eva Darlene Tanner returned to her father in heaven September 18, 2015. Eva was born to Alta Pearl and James Everett in Guthrie, Oklahoma, on February 27, 1931, and married the love of her life, Ace Tanner, on June 2, 1948.

They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles temple on September 10, 1977.  Together, they raised two children, Edward Glenn and Susan LeAnna.

Eva grew up in Winslow, Arizona, where she met Ace outside of a local store and instantly fell in love. In her earlier years, she was a teletype operator for the Santa Fe railroad. She lived most of her life in Arizona and California before Ace retired and they moved to St. George.

Eva was active in the LDS church. In particular, she thoroughly enjoyed working in the nursery, where she served for the past 15 years. She loved missionaries and helped financially to support 27 of them, most without them even knowing. She loved to have fun, play games, ride roller coasters, go boating and ride four wheelers. She taught all of her grandkids how to swim and roller skate.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Robert and James Gragg; and her husband. In addition to Edward and Susan, she leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Tanner; son-in-law, Robert Goodman; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
