Joy Mason Engle, age 92, passed peacefully in her home on Dec. 30, 2022. She was born on March 28, 1930, to Vivian Austin Mason and Ursula Pearl Curtis. On June 12, 1948, Joy married Thurmis Merrill Engle in Orem, Utah, and enjoyed an amazing 74-plus years together.
Joy loved her family and loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved and looked forward to the three-wheeler outings with her family, the wood-gathering adventures and boating. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting and had made over 150 quilts she has shared with family, friends and relief society sisters.
She is survived by her husband Merrill Engle; son Rodney Engle; grandsons Jason Engle, Kevin (Michelle) Engle. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren Dalton Eisenhour, Kooper Engle, Leo Engle and Eli Engle.
A viewing will be held at Affordable Funerals and Cremations located at 4387 South 500 West, Murray, Utah, on Friday, Jan. 6, from 10 a.m.-noon. Interment will be held at a future date.
