Shirley Hansen, our wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Carson City, Nevada, on Sunday June 19, 2022.
Shirley was born May 3, 1928, in Goshen, Idaho, at her family farm. She said, “Time was forever” and spent her youth adventuring, working and learning on the family farm. After high school graduation, she worked hard doing various jobs until she had saved enough money for a bus fare to Salt Lake City and enrolled at LDS Business College.
Shirley was entrusted with three special spirits: daughter JorJan M. McVay and two sons, R. Brent Hansen and Norman J. Hansen. Her children were everything to her. Shirley was a member of and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout her life, she had many spiritual and inspirational happenings. She loved her Heavenly Father and brother Jesus Christ.
Shirley is preceded in death by her mother Vera Maude Rose; father Norman Olin Hansen; sister Elna Ihler; daughter JorJan M. Mcvay; and granddaughter Adrienne Michelle Hawkins. She is survived by her two sons R. Brent Hansen (Phyllis) and Norman J. Hansen (Jodie); five grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 28, at 10 a.m., with a family viewing at 9 a.m., in the Padre Canyon meeting house located at 625 East Center Street in Ivins, Utah. Interment will immediately follow at the Ivins City Cemetery at 460 N. 200 W. Street, Ivins, Utah.
