Nov. 28, 1979-May 23, 2022

Jessica Tawn Jarvis, 42, earned her angel wings after losing her battle with cancer on May 23, 2022. She passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1979, to Brad and Peggy (Lee) Jarvis in Price, Utah. Tawn had a son, Zacary, with her lifelong friend JD Lefler. She also had two children, Jaren and Mia, with her husband Jason, whom she later divorced. Tawn was blessed with a bonus daughter Brooklyn, bonus son Hunter and grandson Oakley. She loved her children fiercely and was so proud them. As a single mom, she worked tirelessly to give them everything she could, but the greatest thing she gave them was her unconditional love and support. Tawn was also the best aunt to Cori, Taven, Landon and Aiden. She was always there for their recitals, games, graduations, weddings and just everyday life. Tawn loved all of her family, including her many aunts, uncles and cousins, but she especially adored her sister, brother and parents.

Tawn grew up in Price and attended Carbon High School. After high school she worked at Walmart and then Family Dollar where she was charged with opening stores in Castle Dale and Sandy, Utah, and Grand Junction, Colorado. Tawn eventually returned to Price to attend the nursing program at College of Eastern Utah. In 2012 she earned her nursing degree. Tawn moved to St. George where she became the Director of Nursing at Coral Desert Rehabilitation and Care. Becoming the Director of Nursing was her biggest accomplishment after her kids. Following her diagnosis, Tawn became a hospice nurse, working for Zions Way/Comfort Home Health and Hospice.

Tawn loved being a nurse and took great pride in the care she gave her patients. She connected with each of them on a personal level to give them compassion-filled care. Everyone who knew Tawn loved Tawn. Her friends and family knew she could always be counted on for a good laugh, honest advice, a road trip or just a good hug. She demanded that no one be sad for her but remember her with joy and share her memory. Her life, and the impact she had on so many, cannot be summed up in a few paragraphs. Her light and love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her parents; her sister Melinda (Jeff) Patterson, Grand Junction, Colorado; her brother, Tyson Jarvis (Mike Hudnall) St. George; her children, Zacary, Jaren, and Mia Jarvis, St. George; bonus daughter and grandson, Brooklyn and Oakley Mower, Price; very special friend, JD Lefler and Hunter, Huntington; niece, Cori (Austin) Berk, Grand Junctio; nephews Taven Patterson of St. George, and Landon Patterson and Aiden Berk of Grand Junction.

She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins and so many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Jane and Ron Berneche, Blake and Cora Lee, and Lawrence Jarvis, and uncles John Jarvis and Scott Lee. The family would like to give a special thanks to Zions Way Home Health and Hospice Care, especially Michelle, Cassie, Shaleen and Channing who are true heroes.

To follow her wishes, Tawn’s family will host a Celebration of Life  June 4 at the Hilton Garden Inn in St George, 4-7 p.m., where all who knew and loved Tawn can share a few laughs, some good food and at her request – dancing – to remember the beautiful life of Tawn Jarvis.

In lieu of flowers, an account for the kids’ trust will be set up and a portion will be donated to her favorite charity.

Family and friends are invited to share tributes online. Arrangements and memorial tree planting by Serenity Funeral Home of Southern Utah, 435-986-9100.
