October 26, 1920 — May 9, 2016
Lois Caldwell Noel, 95, passed away peacefully with her family on May 9, 2016. She was born on October 26, 1920, in Vernal, Utah to Violet Mercedes Peters and Thomas Ellsworth Caldwell. She was married and sealed to Roane Chadwick Noel “Chad” in the Logan Temple on July 29, 1943.
Lois was born and raised in Vernal, Utah, as the oldest of three children. She learned about hard work on the farm and learned about love of family as she often spoke of helping to care for and watch over her younger brother and sister. She was very active in school clubs and enjoyed her many friends. She met and dated Chad at school and received her Elementary School Teaching certificate at BYU while Chad served his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were married and sealed in the Logan Temple, after which Chad was immediately drafted into the Army during WWII.
After Chad’s return, her life went from Utah, where DeOnn was born, to Oregon where Chad Jr. was born, then to southern California where Blane was born. The city of Orange, in Orange County, was her home for over 30 years where they raised their 3 children. Lois loved the beach and her family learned to love it too and made many fond memories there. Retirement brought them back to Utah.
Lois loved to laugh and be playful. She was known for her quick wit and a serious sweet tooth for See’s candies and her famous chocolate bon-bons. She will be remembered for loving and serving her family in a fun way. She loved the gospel and was always willing to serve in the LDS church in many different capacities, but her favorite job was being a mom to a forever family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Weston Caldwell. She is survived by her husband, Roane Chadwick Noel; children: DeOnn Alldredge (Ed), Chad Noel (Michele), Blane Noel (Laurie); a younger sister: Delores Lopez (Albert); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
