Mary Jane Demke, 90 years young, passed away peacefully March 21, 2016, in St. George, Utah, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law. Mary was born July 17, 1925, in Milford, Utah, to Hazel Blacknel and Delmer Kesler. She was the fifth of 13 children. Mary married Delbert Edwards in Pioche, Nevada. They had two children, Sharon and Randy. Delbert passed away in 1963. Mary married Raymond Demke in 1985 in St. George, Utah.
Mary was always a very hard worker. She worked for Grand Central and Mountain Bell in Salt Lake City, Utah. She retired in 1982. She moved to St. George, where she and her husband Ray enjoyed traveling, being a member of the Elks Lodge and golfing. She even hit a hole in one!
She is survived by her son, Randy Edwards and his wife, Debbi, St. George, Utah; sisters, Beatrice Leon, Ann Morley, Sharon Farnsworth, Kathie Ann Ward; brother, Fred Kesler; grandchildren, Laura (Joe) McKenna, Elizabeth (Pat) Richardson and Shane Edwards; inherited grandchildren, Danielle, Gracie, Kendra, Tara, Dallin, Bart, Brandon and Tyler; many great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Delbert and Raymond; daughter, Sharon Spencer; brothers, Carl and Ray; sisters, Beth, Maxine, Loreen, Kathleen and Pat.
Funeral Services
- Saturday, March 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the St. George City Cemetery.
