Richard EvansNovember 7, 1948 — March 10, 2016

Richard Lynn Evans, 67, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Provo, Utah, after many years of health obstacles.

Richard was born November 7, 1948, in Provo, Utah to Lynn Robert Evans and Lorna Chesnut. He was raised in Orem, Utah where he attended elementary, junior high, and high school. Upon graduating from Orem High School, he served faithfully in the North-Western States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his mission he attended Utah Valley Technical College where he met the love of his life, Charlotte Lamoreaux, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on February 5, 1971.

Richard worked for Dees Family Restaurant as a Head Manager for several years.  He joined the Utah Army National Guard as a “Weekend Warrior,” however he later decided to leave the restaurant business and go full-time with the National Guard. While in the National Guard he was able to serve his country that he truly loved for 29 ½ years. When he retired he was at the rank of Staff Supply Sergeant for the 222 Field Artillery Unit in Battery “C” where he received many awards including the Order of Saint Barber.

Richard was a loving husband, and a devoted father to his daughter and two sons.  As a husband, Richard loved to be in the presence of his beautiful wife. As a father he made sure that each of his children understood what it meant to work; he could be seen working next to his children while maintaining the yard and garden. Along with his work ethic he was known to make a sad and serious moment into one of laughter and joy. Richard loved to share his talent of painting with others, including his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Charlotte; daughter, Jennifer Hall; son, Jeffrey (Brenda) Evans, of St. George, UT; son Justin R.
