Agnes Traughber Crosman

Agnes Crosman, 89, passed away Jan. 6, 2019. She was born Sept. 13, 1929, in Springfield, Tennessee, to Richard Godfrey and Mary Adams Traughber. She and her husband Richard Jones Crosman were married in Springfield, Tennessee, on Oct. 2, 1950.

One of 12 siblings, Agnes was born Agnes Imelda Traughber and grew up on the family farm in Robertson County, Tennessee. After her marriage to Richard J. Crosman, who completed a career in the U.S. Army, the family traveled the world, including posts in Europe and the Far East. She lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, for most of the last 36 years, moving the St. George, Utah, this past July.

Agnes is survived by three of her children: Richard A. (Cindy) Crosman of St. George, Utah, Debra L. Maddox of Kalkaska, Michigan, and Matthew D. (Elizabeth) Crosman of Bristow, Virginia; grandchildren David Crosman, Jessica Crosman, Heather Maddox, Christopher Maddox, Megan Crosman and Sarah Crosman and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and children Harold and Mark.

Funeral services

  • Family and friends are invited to celebrate Agnes’ life and share memories on Saturday, Jan. 12, 12:30-2 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.
  • She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, Maine.
