Robert J. Hopkin, 72, completed his last adventure and passed away Dec. 22, 2018, at his home in St. George, Utah, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born June 3, 1946, in Provo, Utah. He was the middle of three children born to Robert C. and Bessie J. Hopkin.

Bob grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and attended Highland High School and the University of Utah. He married Kathleen Margaret Calton on Sept. 2, 1966, in Salt Lake City. Bob had a great love for golf and played in many tournaments. He will be remembered for his contagious laugh, his great love of animals, his music and guitar and his great love of the outdoors. He was very adventurous, which led to his passion for gold hunting, where he enjoyed the beauties and serenity of the mountains. He loved his adventures in Dewy, Page and Beaver Dam, Arizona

He retired and moved to St. George. He always felt he had found paradise here in St. George with all of its many beauties. He enjoyed his home, his daily walks with his beloved dogs, Dakota and Star, and his last days.
